Chapter 8 - Thermal
Note - Mastering Physics asks for 2 significant figures, but for multi-step questions they will use the unrounded or 3 sig fig values from earlier parts. The textbook and Mastering Physics occasionally uses 1.1 atm instead of 1.0 atm. Be careful with your calculations. Read the following chapters in the textbook:
Online - Heat Flow through a Sectional Rod Hint - #44 need to use the average radius when you take into account the thickness of the igloo Hint - #44 the equation for Area of a Hemisphere can be found online, google it

Page 353 - Concept 23 Page 353 - Problems 7, 23, 25
Page 456 - Problems 3, 5, 6 Online - Understanding PV diagrams and Calculate W Hint - #3d for pressure they use 1.1 atm, also for the mass you know that it is Helium - what's the atomic # of He and how is that helpful? Hint - Online Tutorial - be very careful with work ON and work BY, they are opposites of each other
Page 355 - Problem 53 Online - Isobaric Expansion PV plots Online - Work in PV plane Hint - Online Tutorials - be very careful with work ON and work BY, they are opposites of each other
